‘Avengers: Infinity War’ topples Marvel’s previous box office records

Surprising absolutely nobody, Avengers: Infinity War opened on Thursday with some impressive numbers at home and abroad, making it the most successful Thursday preview for a Marvel movie yet.

Avengers: Infinity War took in $39 million in domestic Thursday night previews, making it Marvel’s top-grossing movie out of all of its Thursday previews and the No. 4 movie of all time in Thursday previews, Disney shared.

Trailing behind Infinity War in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Avengers: Age of Ultron at $27.6 million followed by Black Panther at $25.2 million and Captain America: Civil War at $25 million.  Read more…
