Rumors are swirling about Apple’s AirPower wireless charging again
The Abominable Snowman of Apple products — AirPower — is resurfacing. But we’ll believe that the technological monster myth is real when we see it.
The Hong Kong website ChargerLAB reported, via a “credible source,” that AirPower wireless charging mats are already in production. Separately, an app developer mentioned he had heard that Apple overcame its ongoing production problems with AirPower. Taken together, these developments suggest the long-gestating tech might finally become a reality.

Nomad releases a stunning wireless charging pad with Apple Watch dock
With Apple’s AirPower still missing in action, the Apple accessory ecosystem has been attempting to fill the need with similar products. Belkin’s new wireless charging dock is almost like AirPower
Apple’s AirPower — the wireless charging mat that can charge up to three Apple gadgets at once — is a year late and will reportedly be even more late.
Luckily, third-party manufacturers are stepping up. Belkin has a new charging dock called Boostup Wireless Charging Dock that can simultaneously charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch and a third device of your choosing.
Granted, the Boostup Wireless Charging Dock is not as elegant as AirPower. You can’t just place the gadgets onto it; instead, it has a lean-on surface for the iPhone, a similar surface for the Watch, and a USB-A port that lets you charge one additional gadget. Read more…

Apple didn’t mention anything about AirPower, AirPods, or iPads
While three new iPhones and a revamped Apple Watch took center stage at the Apple event Wednesday, several product announcements were conspicuously missing from the presentation.
Apple didn’t even quietly announce anything post-event about its wireless charging pad, dubbed AirPower, its wireless ear buds, AirPods, or its iPad tablet.
No one more thing, no wireless charged AirPods, no AirPower. Apple said both would happen in 2018.

Apple may release AirPower wireless charging pad next month
Apple will launch its own wireless charger that can charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and a pair of AirPods in their case — all at the same time — next month, reports Macotakara.
Although Apple’s Phil Schiller unveiled the device, called AirPower, at the company’s September 2017 iPhone event, he also said it would launch “next year.” So in theory it’s right on schedule.
“It’s a mat that you place your iPhone 8 or iPhone X down and it just starts to charge,” Schiller said of AirPower at the Apple Event. “You can place your Series 3 Apple Watch down on it and it starts to charge as well. And you can place your AirPods with the optional new wireless charging case on it and it starts to charge as well.” Read more…
