Wyss Institute at Harvard University and MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) joined forces to create super strong artificial muscles. The origami-inspired muscles give soft robots the power to lift things 1,000x their own weight and the research team involved in the project mentions that it takes less that $1 and 10 minutes to make a single unit.
