Oh, you thought the Infinity Stones were accounted for in the powerful, gauntleted hand of Thanos?

Think again — looks like Cate Blanchett has them.

The Thor: Ragnarok star rocked up to the the 72nd British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday.

Blanchett donned a stunning black dress by Scottish designer Christopher Kane, while also sporting a familiar-looking feature.

This ‘Infinity War’ tune was the throwback jam of 2018

TwitterFacebook

2018 was a year that cried out for a simple, effervescent throwback tune we could use to forget our present troubles. No one could have guessed we’d find it in a movie that was all about the successful eradication of 50 percent of humanity

But that’s exactly what happened this May when Avengers: Infinity War topped the movie charts, and sent a 42-year-old track bouncing up the music charts in its wake. With Infinity War newly available on Netflix as of last week, we’re just a-movin’ and a-groovin’ to it all over again.

The track, of course, is “Rubberband Man” by the Detroit Spinners (full name, please, lest you confuse them with a contemporary British folk group). It’s in the movie for less than 30 seconds, but leaves a hell of an impression — partly because its 1970s bass-twanging  intro perfectly announces the Guardians of the Galaxy, but mostly because Chris Pratt so utterly throws himself into TikTok-like lip syncing.  Read more…

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is coming to Netflix to close out the year

TwitterFacebook

Avengers: Infinity War will start streaming on Netflix Dec. 25, so you can spend the last week of 2018 just reliving all the joy and pain. This is as much a gift as a curse, depending on how you see it (and on whether or not you’re Thanos).

Oh, snap. Avengers: Infinity War is coming to @Netflix on December 25pic.twitter.com/EMB8LgicdT

— NX (@NXOnNetflix) November 19, 2018

First of all, how dare you with that “Oh snap,” Netflix, and second of all, heck yeah! Infinity War joins MCU brethren Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on the streaming platform – that’s pretty good company. It’s likely temporary, as with many Netflix acquisitions, particularly with the looming advent of Disney’s own streaming serviceRead more…

‘Avengers 4’ filming is wrapped, and the directors shared a teasing new image

TwitterFacebook

Whatever’s going to happen in 2019’s follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War, it’s locked now. Filming has officially wrapped.

But as with most things Marvel, it’s not quite so simple. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo announced the completion of their work on Twitter with a hashtag and an image.

It’s the image that has people talking. What is it? What’s it supposed to be teasing? Why are you like this, Marvel?

The fanpeople of Twitter quickly seized on the image and ran it through countless filters, in the hopes of cutting down on the blinding blue light a bit to see what lies behind it. The results were… mixed? Read more…
