Watch the noice moment when the ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ cast is told Season 7 is happening

Shows get renewed all the time, but it’s not often we get to see the news delivered to their hardworking cast and crew.

On Wednesday, NBC renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a seventh season, and the news was broken during a table read with the show’s cast and crew.

Needless to say, they were ecstatic.

Dirk Blocker, who stars as Detective Hitchcock on the series, posted a video of the cast celebrating, including Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, and Andy Samberg.

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 6 thrives in unexpected spotlight

TwitterFacebook

The story of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is now part of eternal television lore. The whip-smart and big-hearted cop comedy was canceled by FOX and picked up by NBC in May 2017, and now it’s poised to present its sixth season with a lot of new attention.

But before all that, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was – since its very first episode – a truly excellent show. It busted open the stale and serious genre of cop procedurals and fit seamlessly into the extended universe of Michael Schur comedies about coworkers who become family.

If only this ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Law and Order: SVU’ crossover were true

TwitterFacebook

After a mild cancellation scare, a sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is returning in 2019.

The sitcom now has a new home on NBC, where resides another long-running (but more serious) police show in Law and Order: SVU

Given they’re neighbors now, NBC put together a trailer which marries the two series, which now makes us want a crossover to be a real thing.

While the two shows would likely be an awkward fit together, fans found the crossover potential to be tantalizing.

Doesn’t even have to be a full crossover episode. Amy and Rosa go to a Benson seminar for empowering Policewomen.

Chelsea Peretti tweets some bad news for ‘Brooklyn 99’ fans

TwitterFacebook

The last six months have been something of a rollercoaster for Brooklyn 99 fans.

First, Fox made the devastating announcement that they were cancelling the show, and that it wouldn’t be returning for a sixth season. But then only a day later, NBC said they were bringing it back to life.

Now, though, we have bad news again. And this time it comes in the form of some tweets from actor Chelsea Peretti.

B99 fans. Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Chelsea Peretti, here. I won’t be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji. I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina:

10 entertainment moments in 2018 that made us say NOPE (in a good way)

TwitterFacebook

There’s a lot to say NOPE about in 2018, but we like to save that vehement exclamation for good things – things overwhelm us with emotion or, as is often the case, thirst.

A NOPE is not to be confused with a YAS, though can be some overlap – but the best way to explain this exact science is by sharing a few.

As part of our mid-year round-up, we’re looking back at the first six months of the year in entertainment. Here are the Top 10 moments that made us scream, “Nope!”

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ is another testament to the brilliance of Mike Schur

TwitterFacebook

The frenzy over Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s cancelation at Fox and subsequent pickup by NBC may have caught some corners of the industry off guard. But it shouldn’t have.

Creator Mike Schur, who is currently helming The Good Place and also worked on The Office and Parks and Recreation, is one of the most beloved names working in television comedy today, with good reason. And Brooklyn Nine-Nine is part of his tradition of joyful, sentimental, and down-to-earth comedies.

The power of the Schur comedy is that, even while watching the Brooklyn Nine-Nine protagonist go to prison or The Good Place characters get tortured for all eternity, the audience rarely feels anxious or hopeless. These shows are beacons of light in a depressed TV and news landscape.  Read more…

Fox canceled ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ to revive Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’

TwitterFacebook

TV network Fox confirmed Friday that it would be reviving Tim Allen’s comedy Last Man Standing. The news – rumored for weeks – was confirmed a day after the network canceled critically acclaimed comedies The Last Man on Earth, The Mick, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Last Man Standing ended too soon and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” said Gary Newman and Dana Walden, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group (the irony may have been lost on them). “We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope either. Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of Last Man Standing.” Read more…
