Trump slams ‘stupid question’ from female reporter, calls April Ryan a ‘loser’

TwitterFacebook

Donald Trump is not backing down from personal attacks on reporters.

On Friday morning, before leaving on a trip to France to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Trump stopped to speak to members of the press. He quickly lashed out at CNN’s Abby Phillip when she asked if the new interim Attorney General would try to rein in Robert Mueller’s investigation. Trump responded in a vicious tone, “What a stupid question. What a stupid question. But I watch you a lot and you ask a lot of stupid questions.”

In fact, Phillip’s question was not stupid — it was incredibly relevant as Matt Whitaker, who just took over as interim AG following the forced resignation of Jeff Sessions, has been highly critical of the Mueller investigationRead more…

Final trailer for ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’ is painful and poignant

TwitterFacebook

“Everybody who had dreams of traveling with Tony, it’s exactly as cool as you think it is.”

W. Kamau Bell narrates the last trailer for the twelfth and final season of CNN’s Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Kamau’s voice over is particularly fitting considering his collaboration episode with the celebrity chef was the last episode Bourdain would ever narrate.

The series return takes Bourdain and Bell to Kenya. The following episodes will show Bourdain alongside other guests in Manhattan and Texas. (The uncompleted footage shot in Paris at the time of Bourdain’s death is unlikely to be shown.)  Read more…

CNN to create one final season of ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’

TwitterFacebook

Thank goodness, CNN is giving Parts Unknown fans a proper send off.

The docuseries’ home network has confirmed a final season of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown is in the works, according to an LA Times report. Plans are in place for CNN to deliver a fall premiere.

Bourdain’s death in June left viewers speculating on the travel series’ fate. Many believed the final episode of Season 11 (which aired on July 24) would mark the show’s end.

The announcement of new episodes is bittersweet news for the esteemed documentarian’s fans. While Season 12 will feature footage of the late chef, Bourdain’s iconic scripted narration will appear in only one episode—a collaboration with CNN colleague W. Kamau Bell that concluded production before Bourdain’s death. Read more…

Trump set aside time during press conference with Theresa May to insult CNN, naturally

TwitterFacebook

Different continent, same old CNN-hating Trump.

On Friday, the U.S. president upheld his vendetta against CNN when he denied a question from Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, and instead devoted a good 20 seconds during his UK press conference with Prime Minister Theresa May to calling the media company “fake news.”

“Since you attacked CNN can I ask you a question?” Acosta can be heard asking during the question-and-answer portion of the presser.

“No. No… CNN is fake news I don’t take questions — I don’t take questions from CNN. CNN is fake news I don’t take questions from CNN,” Trump said into the microphone. Read more…
