Teen eggs an Australian official after his racist reaction to the New Zealand shooting

One Australian teen gave the world a much-needed moment of catharsis on Saturday, egging Australian senator Fraser Anning over his reaction to the horrific Christchurch, New Zealand mass shooting and taking a punch in the face for his efforts. 

Video of the incident, showing the teen sliding up behind Anning while he spoke to reporters, immediately went viral. The teen splats an egg on the back of Anning’s head, filming the whole thing with his phone, which prompted Anning to spin around and throw a punch at the kid.

What came first, the cracks in the internet as a force for good or the egg? 

Much has been written about the world record-breaking Instagram egg over the past weeks, but very little is known about the person behind it. 

The internet went into frenzy mode, with newsrooms rolling up their digital forensic investigation sleeves, trying to figure out the “why” of this egg by investigating the “who.” Even Ellen DeGeneres was obliged, reluctantly, to acknowledge the power of the egg and send off an invite: “Egg, if you’re listening, I want you on the show,” she said. Eggs are taking over TikTok, thanks to the world record egg

TikTok users are having an eggcellent time. 

Since a photo of a normal, everyday egg broke Kylie Jenner’s world record for the most liked photo on Instagram, the Youths have been obsessed with eggs. 

TikTok users are coming up with eggstraordinarily creative videos in honor of the simple brown egg that broke the internet. 

According to TikTok, videos with the hashtag #EggGang gained 14 million views in just two days — it’s no surprise, considering how much they can crack you up.

An egg inside an egg sounds like some weird metaphor for something, but no. It appears to be a literal thing.

Stockman’s Eggs in Queensland, Australia, posted an image of an absolutely enormous chicken’s egg on Sunday.

That poor, poor chicken.

Soon Australian outlets started running the story that inside the mega-egg another, smaller egg had been discovered.

Look at this big egg. You gotta feel for the chook that laid it! Stockman’s Eggs says it was laid by a free range hen and when cracked, had another smaller egg inside! pic.twitter.com/9bDJKPCOVp
