Fox News host admits on air that he hasn’t washed his hands in 10 years

TwitterFacebook

A good amount of people abandon their New Year’s resolutions by February, but Fox News’ Pete Hegseth? He’s just getting started.

On Sunday morning’s episode of Fox & Friends, Hegseth, for some reason, came *clean* about his resolution on air, and the result was both unexpected and absolutely disgusting.

“My 2019 resolution is to say things on-air that I say off-air. I don’t think I’ve washed my hands for 10 years,” Hegseth admitted, without being asked.

Fox News’ @PeteHegseth admits, unprompted, that he hasn’t washed his hands in 10 years.

“Germs are not a real thing,” Pete says. “I can’t see them, therefore they’re not real.” pic.twitter.com/9hsAb9YA9j

12 times Fox News goofed in 2018

TwitterFacebook

The year was pretty ridonkulous across the board, but Fox News had itself a doozy of a 2018, with a string of controversies, slip-ups, feuds, and strange happenings.

The news network has long since tied its fortunes to President Trump. They seem to sink or swim along with the president — with the occasional aside from figures like Shep Smith, the lone voices of reason among a collection of pro-Trump pundits.

From beefs with teen school shooting survivors to fear-mongering about, well, all sorts of things, it was another weird, wacky, controversial year for The House That Roger Ailes Built. Here are 12 moments that stuck out above the rest. Read more…

Fox News mistakenly calls the president ‘David’ Trump

TwitterFacebook

While President Donald Trump has reportedly used fake names to maneuver and manipulate the PR game, he’s got a brand new label thanks to a funny Fox News flub that hit the air on Tuesday night.

During a discussion on Laura Ingraham’s show about Time‘s “Person of the Year,” a graphic was shown on screen listing the 2018 finalists which includes Donald Trump. Or, perhaps, maybe Trump’s twin, David?

‘Saturday Night Live’ cold open rips Fox News and that ridiculous ‘Vape God’ interview

TwitterFacebook

Another week, another Saturday Night Live cold open serving up an is-it-real-or-isn’t-it parody of Fox News.

The last one was a pre-Election Day reminder of the role Fox News played in making the distant and not-at-all-dangerous migrant caravan seem like a threat. This one has more of a Weekend Update feel, if Weekend Update featured morally bankrupt hosts like Jeanine Pirro (Cecily Strong) and Laura Ingraham (Kate McKinnon). The SNL writer’s room is clearly having fun coming up with fake brands that would advertise on Fox.

The sketch ends with McKinnon-as-Ingraham interviewing a man named “Vape God” (Pete Davidson). The segment is riffing on an IRL Ingraham interview that actually happened, and — believe it or not — Davidson’s parody is pretty close to the real thing. Read more…

‘Saturday Night Live’ cold open blasts Fox News and its caravan fear-mongering

Saturday Night Live’s latest episode kicked off with a news package from Fox News featuring Laura Ingraham (Kate McKinnon) and Jeanine Pirro (Cicely Tyson) on the migrant caravan. It’s basically seven minutes of dishonest fear-mongering.

Fox News reveals it has no idea how movies work in a very misguided tweet about Jamie Lee Curtis

TwitterFacebook

On Wednesday, Fox News shared one of the dumbest takes of our time about Jamie Lee Curtis, star of the Halloween re-boot.

The conservative news outlet tweeted, “Jamie Lee Curtis wields firearms in new ‘Halloween’ movie despite advocating for gun control.” It’s sort of like…Fox News has no idea what a movie is. Or, more horrifying, they have no idea how to decipher fact from fiction. Woof.

People were quick to ridicule Fox’s argument, reminding us all that loads of actors play people whose views are diametrically opposed to theirs.   And, like, that’s what acting is. Read more…

Even Fox News admits the Kavanaugh hearing is a ‘disaster for Republicans’

TwitterFacebook

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony on Thursday  before the Senate Judiciary Committee was arresting, painful, and often damning — even for the pundits on Fox News.

After Ford began her testimony on Thursday, Fox News host Chris Wallace told a panel that Ford’s testimony and the cross-examination format made this a “disaster for Republicans.”

“This was extremely emotional, extremely raw, and extremely credible,” Wallace said. “This is a disaster for the Republicans.”

His fellow panelists shared similar sentiments, though none with quite the same gravity. Bret Baier said that hearing from Dr. Ford is a “totally different thing” from reading her allegations. Read more…
