The 10 worst fictional couples that made us wish love was dead

TwitterFacebook

It’s Summer Lovin’ Week here at Mashable, which means things are getting steamy. In honor of the release of Crazy Rich Asians, we’re celebrating onscreen love and romance, looking at everything from our favorite fictional couples to how Hollywood’s love stories are evolving. Think of it as our love letter to, well, love.

It’s hard to believe one can mess up an onscreen romance, when it almost always entails putting two very attractive people in romantic situations. But somehow, Hollywood manages to fuck it up. A lot.

There’s no antonym for “thirsty” in internet speak. But we need to make one up just to accurately describe the way these horribly mismatched couples left us as dry as the Saharan desert. Read more…

Drag Queen Elsa frees police truck trapped in Boston blizzard

TwitterFacebook

Leave it to Queen Elsa to step in during a blizzard.

Drag Queen Elsa, that is.

This Elsa was spotted outside a south Boston bar, The Gallows, pushing a police wagon that was stuck in the snow. Chants of “Go Elsa!” are heard in the background, as he single-handedly managed to free the truck, all while wearing a flowing gown and heels.

And because Elsa is a queen, after this feat of strength, he takes an elegant curtsy, to remind us that we are in the presence of Frozen royalty. Read more…

That ‘Frozen’ short everyone hated is now coming to TV

TwitterFacebook

Knock, knock, it’s Olaf, and you can’t get rid of him! Disney announced Friday that the Frozen short banished from theaters showing Coco will now air on television as planned. If you’re curious, here’s your chance to see it – and if you’re still reeling from the pre-Coco ambush, soldier on.

After audiences responded to “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” with unmitigated hate – due perhaps to its exorbitant 22-minute run time or its several full-length songs – Disney removed the short from Coco showings starting Dec. 8.

“Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” will premiere on ABC, where it was originally scheduled to air before Disney tried to get some free publicity with the Coco pairing. The short will start at 8 p.m. on Dec. 14 as part of the network’s 25 Days of ChristmasCoco is now in theaters. Read more…
