Christmas came early this Friday, when a sculpture of Gritty made out of cheese was unveiled.
The Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot was crafted by expert food sculptures Jim Victor and Marie Pelton using three 40-pound bricks cheddar cheese, according to Philly Voice. We assume it had an extra sharp flavor profile — it’s what Gritty would want.

On Friday, photos and videos surfaced from a wedding in Philadelphia where the Great Orange One appears to have dropped in unannounced to the utter delight to everyone involved.

If there’s one thing to be said for this garbage year, it’s that at least it gave us Gritty.
Terrifying yet endearing, with wild eyes and a wide fixed grin, the orange mascot may have begun life as a Philadelphia Flyers mascot, but he’s since grown into so much more. He’s a meme, a Halloween costume, an antifa icon—to put it simply, Gritty is the gift that keeps on giving.

I regret to inform you that a living, breathing human being really went out and paid money to get Gritty tattooed on his ass.
25-year-old James Kirn has been a Flyers fan his whole life, but he took his dedication to the demonic NHL mascot to a whole new level by getting the bright orange horror permanently inked onto his left cheek. Gritty’s terrifying grin, fiery fur, and unfocused eyeballs will grace Kirn’s body forever — or until he gets it lasered off.

Gritty just celebrated his one month birthday. He’s already accomplished so much in his time on planet earth.
For the past month, Gritty’s brought nothing but joy to the sad people of the internet, crushed daily by Trump. Now, he’s bringing hope in the form of homemade Gritty Halloween costumes and carved Gritty pumpkins.

The Philadelphia Flyers revealed its new mascot Gritty — and he will haunt you for the rest of your foreseeable days.
The scraggly, googly-eyed, orange-haired mascot was made public Monday morning, and looks like the result of an unholy union between the Babadook and a Muppet from Fraggle Rock.
Gritty is probably the last thing anyone needs, or wants to see at any sports arena. But hey, here we are.
