J.K. Rowling’s latest take on Dumbledore’s love life has sparked some very sexual memes

TwitterFacebook

At this point in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, do we really need to know about wizard sex?

J.K. Rowling’s latest take on how Dumbledore and Grindlewald supposedly had an ‘intense love’ and ‘sexual’ relationship feels like another groan-worthy round in a very bad game show — What Will J.K. Rowling Retcon Next?

Every time she hits us with a fake-woke Potterverse fun fact, a phoenix loses one of its feathers. Even for all the galleons and sickles in the world, fans just aren’t buying it.

But Twitter has made it clear that wizard sex is probably at bottom on the list in terms of wizarding world lore we’d like to know about. Read more…

‘Harry Potter’ fans are not happy with JK Rowling’s latest Dumbledore comments

TwitterFacebook

If you’ve been anywhere near Twitter in the past 24 hours, you’ve likely heard about J.K. Rowling’s latest Fantastic Beasts comments — the ones where she described, in a DVD feature for The Crimes of Grindelwald, the “incredibly intense” “love” relationship Dumbledore shared with his rival.

Chances are you’ve read some of the backlash, too.

In the hours since the interview gained traction, there were a number of tweets about Rowling’s remarks that went viral. And quite a few of them highlighted the difference between the Harry Potter author’s words and what is featured in the Fantastic Beasts movies themselves. Read more…

‘Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’ turns the whole Muggle world into Potterverse

TwitterFacebook

Alright, let’s get this introduction over quickly so we can get to the video of Harry being attacked by a dementor in the real world, as seen via smartphone.

With Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, the people who brought you the phenomenon of Pokemon Go and its sophisticated sci-fi cousin Ingress will run a trilogy of games that turn real-world locations into magnets for masses of mobile playersWizards Unite isn’t complete, and we don’t have a release date. But it already has the most involved, and probably the most addictive, gameplay of the three.

The setup this time: In the decade since Deathly Hallows, there’s been a breakdown of magical order, a “Calamity,” an “existential crisis.” (Don’t we know it!) You’re a volunteer for the Ministry of Magic, part of the “Statute of Secrecy” (SOS) task force, securing various magical objects that have been taken and are in danger of being revealed to the Muggle world — but which for now you can only see through your phone. You walk around a 3-D map scattered with castles, greenhouses, and magical inns.   Read more…

Niantic’s Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is a sorcerous smorgasbord for the Pokémon GO generation

Niantic’s follow-up to the absurdly popular Pokémon GO, the long-awaited Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, has one major drawback: unlike its predecessor, you can’t explain it in a single sentence. There’s so much to do in this game that it may repel some casual players — but while its depths of systems and collectibles may be nigh endless, don’t worry: you still basically just walk around doing wizard and witch stuff.

This ‘Harry Potter’ thread will make you see Molly Weasley and Sirius differently

TwitterFacebook

You know a book series is popular when it’s still prompting regular, viral Twitter threads over two decades after it began.

Today’s observation concerns Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and comes from writer Anne Thériault.

In particular, Thériault had some thoughts about how Molly Weasley and Sirius Black are portrayed in the series’ fifth book.

Here’s her thread in full:

The Order of the Phoenix should be called Harry Potter And The 267 Times Mrs Weasley Was Right But Everyone Ignored And Gaslit Her Because They’d All Decided She Was A Hysterical Bitch

A new meme makes fun of JK Rowling’s fake woke additions to ‘Harry Potter’

J.K. Rowling just can’t let go of Harry Potter, and this meme calls her out for it.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book in the series, was released in 2008. The movie version of the finale was released in 2011. But in the last eight y…

Magical pooch performs tricks to ‘Harry Potter’ spells, deserves 10 points for Gryffindor

TwitterFacebook

A long-haired, mini dachshund with the name Remus is frankly adorable enough already.

But when you add a miniature Hogwarts uniform, and a video of the little chap doing tricks in response to Harry Potter spells, the whole thing goes to another level.

The following video was tweeted by actor and YouTuber Anna Brisbin on Monday, after it went (understandably) viral.

On Tuesday morning, the video got the official Pottermore seal of approval.

Pottermore’s unnecessary poop tweet reminds us that wizards are gross, we’re all overthinking things

TwitterFacebook

Pottermore recently resurfaced a wizarding world fun fact that has Harry Potter fans losing it on Twitter. Pottermore reminded fans – or in most cases, informed them – that before plumbing, wizards used to “relieve themselves” literally anywhere and then magically vanish any excrement.

…oh.

This fun-slash-frightening fact depending on your perspective comes from the Pottermore page about the Chamber of Secrets, which, if you recall, is only accessible via ancient plumbing channels.
