You spent $999 on an iPhone X. Here’s how much you can get for it.

TwitterFacebook

Apple is expected to reveal three new iPhones at its Sept. 12 “Gather Round” event.

They’re not going to be cheap — luckily, if you bought an iPhone X, you can trade it in to get cash or a gift card to put toward your new device.

First off, you’ll want to know the condition of your device, the model, and the storage size. Go to Settings > General > About to see the model number and the storage size of your iPhone.

After that, check out the top trade-in sites to see which one will give you the best deal.

Apple is perfecting the iPhone right when we’re questioning what it’s doing to us

TwitterFacebook

Someone once described the iPhone as a window into our digital lives. Apple’s job, in designing it, is to make that window as large and transparent as possible — preferably to the point where you don’t even know it’s there. The device, in other words, should simply get out of the way.

The hardware does this in numerous ways. To name just a few: A fast processor means web pages and apps launch faster, reliable wireless connections mean your AirPods “just work” when you put them in your ears, and the sophisticated touchscreen lets you use simple, natural gestures (like swiping down on a photo to “close” it) to manipulate content. If you’ve been waiting for a gold iPhone, you’ll probably love the next Apple event

TwitterFacebook

Only a few hours after Apple sent out this year’s iPhone event invitations, purportedly leaked images of the new devices have surfaced online.

This afternoon, Apple news site 9to5Mac posted a photo of what is allegedly one of the new flagship iPhone models laying on top of one another.

If the leaked photos are to be believed, Apple fans can rejoice, because it appears that a bigger iPhone X is on its way — oh, and there could be a gold color option coming as well.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech company just sent out invites for a September 12 event with the tagline “Gather Around.” The invite didn’t offer much information about what to expect, but an outline of Apple Park appeared in what was a gold-copper color — which could be perceived as a hint about the upcoming gold iPhone color option. TwitterFacebook

Let me blow your mind with this rumor: Apple is going to unveil new iPhones in the fall.

Yes, that we know. But we also “know” a little more than that. Obviously Apple has so far not said a single word about its 2018 iPhone models, but the rumor mill has been chugging away, and the consensus is Apple will launch three different iPhones: a successor to the iPhone X, a large-screen version of that phone, and a new model that mostly mirrors the iPhone X design, but doesn’t have quite all the same features so Apple can sell it at a lower price.

There have been plenty of reports about the screen sizes, features, and technology the three phones will have, but there’s a big question about the phones that doesn’t have an obvious answer: What is Apple going to call these babies?  Read more…

This is what the next iPhone could look like

Several dummy units of future iPhone models have leaked over the weekend. It gives a good idea of what you should expect to see in September when Apple introduces the next iPhone. Most likely, the iPhones on these photos aren’t actual iPhones. They are just dummy units. Every year, a few manufacturers create objects that […]

Used iPhone Xs are selling for record-high prices

TwitterFacebook

Even a used iPhone X will cost an arm and a leg.

The phone’s $999 starting price isn’t the only place consumers are hit with a hefty price tag. The iPhone X is now also reselling at the highest price of any other phone, according to liquidation research specialist B-Stock.

The average resale price is only at 85 percent of the original, and even those who buy the phones in bulk are paying about 75 percent of the original price — these are much higher percentages than even previous iPhone models, which sold at around 65 percent of the original price half a year after they hit the market.
