Police hunt for missing ‘Iron Man’ suit

TwitterFacebook

Someone check on the Vulture, there’s an Iron Man suit missing.

Los Angeles police have confirmed they’re investigating a missing Iron Man suit, which disappeared from a prop warehouse in LA’s Pacoima neighborhood, reports the LA Times.

The suit, worn by Robert Downey Jr. in Marvel’s original 2008 film Iron Man, was reported missing on Tuesday, according to the Times, by unnamed employees who “just happened to check” on it. LAPD’s Foothill Division is investigating.

Finally a story that can be served by my immense nerdery – the LAPD is investigating the theft of the Iron Man suit from the Avengers movies. No, I am not making this up. Yes, this is kind of the plot of Spiderman: Homecoming.

Did you catch this awesome ‘Civil War’ easter egg hiding in the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer?

TwitterFacebook

The long-awaited trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has finally landed, and we already have plenty of questions for Marvel’s mega superhero mash-up (like what’s up with Thanos’ face?).

But the trailer may have given us an answer for one of the lingering queries left over from Captain America: Civil War — how will Captain America and Iron Man reconcile after their bitter breakup over Bucky

The ideological and emotional divide was pretty heartbreaking, but Civil War did offer a ray of hope between Steve and Tony in the form of a fittingly retro flip phone that Cap left for his billionaire buddy, in case Tony decides he ever needs to get the band back together. Read more…

Real-life ‘Iron Man’ sets Guinness World Record because of course he does

TwitterFacebook

He’s nicknamed the real-life Iron Man for his impressive jet engine flight suit which has a very close resemblance to the Tony Stark’s one.

But now Richard Browning, founder of Gravity Industries, can pride himself on setting a new Guinness World Record for the fastest-ever flight in a flight suit.

During the third and final attempt over Lagoona Park in Reading, England, Browning reached a speed of 32.02 mph (51.53 km/h).

His suit consists of six small kerosene-fuelled micro gas turbines strapped to his arms, which have 22kg of thrust and are controlled by human body movement.

“I am delighted we have set the record. I’m very proud indeed to be a part of Guinness World Records Day, it is a pleasure and a privilege to have our unique creation recognised and celebrated all round the world,” Browning said.  Read more…
