Even when Denzel Washington is throwing a bowl of cranberry sauce at a basketball hoop, he still somehow manages to make it look cool.
In the clip above from The Tonight Show, Washington competes against Jimmy Fallon in a “Random Object Shootout”. Basically, they take turns throwing a range of weird stuff — everything from a butternut squash to an actual VHS tape of the Spike Lee classic He Got Game — at a basketball hoop. It’s just as hard, and as messy, as it sounds.
Ultimately it’s a pretty close-fought contest, but luckily Fallon drafts in some surprise help at the end to give him an edge. Read more…

Hollywood audition culture is notoriously sexist — celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Emmy Rossum have spoken out about it before. And in a new sketch from Friday’s Tonight Show, Jessica Chastain took another dig at the famously toxic process.
In the sketch, Chastain shows up at an audition to read for “Angela.” The part seems straightforward enough, until the casting director (played by Jimmy Fallon) starts asking her to “do it again, but hot” and, in a truly cringeworthy moment, to read her lines like a “spicy little peppermint with a secret.” (Of course, when a male actor comes in to audition, he receives no notes.) Chance the Rapper visited The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday to discuss his upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live and it involved a surprising collaboration.
While donning his iconic “3” baseball cap, Chance explained that he wrote five different sketches for his first hosting gig on Saturday Night Live. Chance made four previous appearances on the show as a musical guest.
Chance also explained that Donald Glover, one of his frequent musical collaborators, helped him work on some of the sketch ideas that got approved for the show.
