Justin Trudeau’s family is at it again with another year of delightful Halloween costumes.

Canada’s prime minister dressed up as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved character Sherlock Holmes for the spooky holiday, donning the fictional detective’s signature deerstalker hat, pipe, and clue-hunting magnifying glass.

But Trudeau wasn’t alone in his costumed festivities, with his whole family joining in:

“The Star Wars movie was outstanding.”

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau’s six-word assessment of Star Wars: The Last Jedi probably won’t make it to Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s a glowing endorsement nonetheless. He’s seen the movie, and he’s a fan.

What, you wanted more? Sorry. That’s all Trudeau had to say when the topic came up during an impromptu chat with the media in Canada’s House of Commons Wednesday. He’d given a screening of the movie to kids from the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario the night before. Read more…

Justin Trudeau explains why Canada really ‘gets’ AI and smart cities

At Google’s Go North event today in Toronto, which features a slate of speakers focused primarily on artificial intelligence, Alphabet chairman Eric Schmidt spoke to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (and actually asked him some tough questions on NAFTA negotiations and his feelings about Trump, surprisingly). Justin Trudeau dressed up for Halloween, and it’s a little too self-aware

TwitterFacebook

Canadian prime minister and world leader poster boy, Justin Trudeau, dressed up for Halloween, and well, it’s a little bit too self-aware. Trudeau stealthily dressed as Clark Kent, and exposed himself as Superman. That’s right, Superman.

Trudeau has become a little darling of American media in the last year, as the country looks north and asks: “Why can’t we have a young, good-looking, thoughtful leader, like Canada?”

Don’t get me wrong — it’s hard to not fall for Trudeau’s calm demeanor and perfect smile. It’s easy to long for a leader who speaks multiple languages while yours can barely speak one, but Superman, really? Read more…
