Nintendo announces Super Mario Maker 2 for Switch, so goodbye forever

Nintendo has ruined my life, and all our lives, by announcing Super Mario Maker 2, the sequel to the level-constructing game on Wii U that produced thousands of devious levels for those who think the “real” games aren’t hard enough. Gamers have been asking for this basically since the Switch was first rumored.

Nintendo is releasing yet another game for your phone.

The company is set to release its puzzle game Dr. Mario World for iOS and Android devices sometime during the “early summer” of this year, as per an announcement on Thursday.

There’s not a whole lot of detail yet, aside from the fact that the game will be free to download, but as you can expect, it will come with in-app purchases.

Nintendo is making Dr. Mario for iOS and Android

Nintendo held off on building smartphone games for years, but now they just can’t stop. They started with a little stumble with the short-lived Miitomo, but then found an audience with Super Mario Run. Then came Fire Emblem Heroes. Then Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Dragalia Lost. Next up? Dr. Mario. Nintendo announced this afternoon […]

They say, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.”

YouTuber, game developer, and general badass NimsoNY recently posted an entirely redesigned version of Peach’s Castle from Super Mario 64—and mamma mia, it’s amazing. Complete with a portrait gallery of fan art, this reimagining of the original 1996 game allows players to explore the grounds of the castle, try out some new technical features, and toy with custom animations using the Mario character model from Super Mario Odyssey.

Clearly motivated by lots of love for the franchise, NimsoNY says he spent a month on the project. His justification? “I wanted to see this myself.” Read more…

The most uncomfortable thing imaginable is a hairless Mario

TwitterFacebook

A horrible beast follows me in my dreams now.

Every night, I awake in terror, awash with sweat, heart pounding. I grip the bedding around me, trying to ground myself from the too-real horrors I just awoke from.

He’s inside my head now, an image emblazoned on my conscience that I can never escape. A beast so familiar and yet a complete stranger, twisted by some sort of cruel instrument that has left him nothing but a dreadful shell of his former self.

It’s-a-him, Shaved Mario.
