Going on a late night McDonald’s food run may be a lot different in the future. McDonald’s has purchased Dynamic Yield Ltd., an Israeli artificial intelligence company. McDonald’s said it plans to use Dynamic Yield’s technology to change the drive-through experience. As long as they don’t mess with our McGriddles it should be cool though.  Read more…

‘Gold diggin’ dog scams McDonald’s customers pretending to be a stray, owner says

A dog with some seriously good begging eyes has apparently been tricking McDonald’s customers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma into feeding her. 

While some customers may see Princess the dog lurking outside the McDonald’s and think it’s a stray, her owner Betsy Reyes says otherwise. 

“If you see my dog @ the McDonald’s on shields, quit feeding her fat ass,” Reyes wrote on Facebook on Sunday. “She’s just a gold diggin ass bitch that be acting like she’s a stray so people will feel bad for her & feed her burgers.” Read more…

McDonald’s is ditching plastic straws in Australia too

Australians, you’ll be sipping your thickshake through a paper straw at McDonald’s pretty soon — plastic straws are out.

One week after Starbucks announced it would phase out plastic straws by 2020, McDonald’s has unveiled similar plans to phase them out in Australia by the same year.

The fast good giant will roll out the ban to its 970 restaurants around the country over the next four years, and the first trials will begin in August 2018.

The full global switch to paper straws will only be taking place in Australia, the UK and Ireland for now, but McDonald’s confirmed testing of alternatives has already begun in Belgium, and will begin later this year in the US, France, Sweden and Norway. Read more…
