There’s more evidence that a Razr with a foldable screen is coming

TwitterFacebook

Well this is flipping fantastic.

Motorola has previously been devilishly mum about rumored plans for a new smart, foldable flip phone — it responded to reports that a Razr for the foldable screen era was coming with an animated shruggie.

But now, Motorola VP of Global Product Dan Dery has confirmed to Engadget that a foldable Motorola smart phone is on the way — albeit still somewhat coyly.

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Dery told Engadget, regarding phones with foldable screens, that Motorola has “no intention of coming later than everybody else in the market.” Read more…

Weeks of leaks haven’t left much to the imagination. Motorola’s Moto G7’s are proof $200 phones no longer suck

TwitterFacebook

My advice for friends and family looking to buy a new phone used to be simple: Stay away from budget phones unless you want a significantly inferior mobile experience.

It used to the case that you couldn’t expect much from a $200 phone — you get what you pay for! But that’s not true anymoreMotorola’s three new Moto G7 phones, which start at $199 and top out at $299, are budget-priced phones that defy the definition of cheap.

Phone fanatics won’t need any introduction to the Moto G series. Launched in 2013, the phone series has become synonymous with high-quality phones at really low prices starting around the $200 price point. Read more…

Hellooo, 2004 is calling, and it is STOKED!

The new Razr will be a smart phone, but it will be able to retain its flip phone form because the screen will be a foldable. It will reportedly become available as soon as February (!!!), and cost $1500. Which, ouch. But that’s maybe worth it for retro foldable screen glory? Read more…

Motorola is partnering with iFixit to sell official DIY phone repair kits

Repairing a phone is harder than it needs to be. With phone manufacturers spending the last decade chasing device slimness and building devices meant to last however long a phone contract lasts, user repairability just doesn’t seem to be something they care much about. Need a repair part? Good luck on eBay, friendo! In what […]

Happy anniversary, Android

It’s been 10 years since Google took the wraps off the G1, the first Android phone. Since that time the OS has grown from buggy, nerdy iPhone alternative to arguably the most popular (or at least populous) computing platform in the world. But it sure as heck didn’t get there without hitting a few bumps […]
