Fox News contributor suggests it was a ‘compliment’ when Trump called Omarosa a ‘dog’

TwitterFacebook

Remember when Donald Trump, our sitting president, called Omarosa “that dog” after news broke that she’d recorded with him and others during her time at the White House? It was both racist and sexist — and definitely was not said from a place of love.

But if you ask Washington Times‘ editor Charlie Hurt, Trump’s “dog” comment was totally fine. During a segment on Fox News on Tuesday, Hurt suggested that Trump meant “dog” as a compliment.

Fox News commentator Marie Harf first brought up the comment as an example of “offensive things” Trump’s said on Twitter.  Read more…

Stephen King has strong words following Trump’s tweet about Omarosa

TwitterFacebook

You only have to take a quick glance at Stephen King’s Twitter feed to know that he’s no fan of Donald Trump.

But a recent tweet from the President — in which he referred to former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman as a “crazed, crying lowlife” and a “dog” — has angered the horror master more than usual.

Here’s the tweet Trump posted on Tuesday, in advance of Newman’s tell-all book Unhinged being released.

When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!

About that Omarosa book: This is what complicity looks like

TwitterFacebook

Everyone is the hero of their own story — but in telling that tale, people often reveal much more about themselves than they realize. That is true of autobiographies in general, and of Unhinged by Omarosa Manigault Newman more than most.

The tell-all book, released Tuesday by the famous former reality show star and communications staffer, has plenty of beans to spill on the dysfunction and casual racism of Donald Trump and his White House.

It’s also the story of how the kind of person who seems to think in soundbites could help elect and participate in such an administration without ever really knowing what she was doing. And how, even after reflecting for a year, that person thinks she can avoid doing much soul-searching about her role.  Read more…

Omarosa says she’s ‘not trolling’ with White House recordings

TwitterFacebook

Omarosa Manigault-Newman said she’s “not trolling” the White House with her decision to release secretly taped conversations with Chief of Staff John Kelly and Trump.

The former Trump aide joined Trevor Noah on The Daily Show on Tuesday night to talk about her new tell-all book, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the White House, and why she made the recordings — including one which reportedly discusses the existence of an Apprentice outtake tape in which Trump allegedly uses a racial slur.

“I’m not trolling them. I just want them to know that everything that you see in Unhinged, that’s quoted, can be verified as documented and corroborated.” she said. Read more…

The 10 most unhinged parts of Omarosa’s ‘Unhinged’

TwitterFacebook

We’re well into the second season of Trump: The Presidency, and Omarosa — who was supposed to have left after season one — keeps worming her way back into every episode.

This week brings us Omarosa’s book Unhinged, a “juicy” tell-all about her brief tenure in the White House and her relationship with President Trump. To be fair, there isn’t that much, thematically, that will surprise the reader. We’re all too aware of the chaos in the White House.

What is (sort of) novel about Unhinged is the grotesque specificity of its detail. Omarosa seems to take real pleasure in exposing each and every one of the Trump administration’s weaknesses — as well as every single of one of her mighty strengths. Read more…
