This Twitter thread of dads texting the bare minimum will make you say ‘OK’

TwitterFacebook

Dads are not known for being prolific texters. While there are exceptions to the rule, we suspect that all dads have, at some point, received secret instructions to only respond with “OK.”

Now, this phenomenon has been immortalized in an extremely good Twitter thread. It was started by user @zenuhhh, who tweeted her text history with her dad on Saturday.

Look familiar? It did to a lot of other people, too. The thread quickly filled up with people whose dads cannot seem to text in complete sentences. They would rather talk on the phone, OK? What is it with kids and all this texting? Read more…

Watch this dad slide all over an icy driveway to rescue his daughter’s new toy

TwitterFacebook

Not even mother nature can come between a child and their new toy.

One dedicated dad in Alaska was forced to brave a formidable sheet of ice on the family’s driveway in order to bring his three-year-old a toy kitchen she’d been looking forward to getting for quite some time.

After a bunch of freezing rain fell on their small town outside of Anchorage, everything was covered in a thick layer of ice — including little Adalynn’s new toy that was in the back of the family’s truck. Her dad, Kyle, went on a rescue mission, which led to him sliding all over their driveway and into the street.

His treacherous walk paid off: Kyle overcame the slippery conditions and was able to deliver Adalynn her long-awaited kitchen. He’s now a strong contender for “Dad of the Year.” Read more…
