Trump appears to mock Elizabeth Warren with genocide joke and people are livid

TwitterFacebook

It’s rare to see President Trump reference American history, but when he does, it’s normally either (1) wrong or (2) evil.

Consider his tweet on Saturday, which mocked Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren using a racist slur and then seemingly referenced the Trail of Tears, the 19th century Native American genocide.

“Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Will she run as our first Native American presidential candidate, or has she decided that after 32 years, this is not playing so well anymore? See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!” Read more…

Watch the 2019 State of the Union address here (or not)

It’s that time again — time to hear what kind of state our precious union is in. For those of you inclined to watch the temporarily delayed speech by the President, you can of course watch it in a bar and invent your own drinking game, but you can also stay home and watch it on YouTube or C-SPAN. The drinks are cheaper — and stronger.

Firefighters slam Trump’s illogical tweet about out-of-control California fires

TwitterFacebook

As thousands of firefighters battled uncontrolled flames in both Northern and Southern California on Saturday, President Trump tweeted out an ill-informed, distorted message about the cause of these deadly autumn infernos.

But the firefighting community quickly rebutted the president’s rash claims, wherein he blamed “gross mismanagement of the forests,” while also threatening to cut federal support to fire management efforts.

There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

Here’s President Trump toasting the UN with a wine glass full of Diet Coke

TwitterFacebook

President Trump once tweeted, “I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke.”

While at the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday, however, Trump let the waiter pour him a big ol’ Diet Coke — and into a wine glass at that.

The optics of the resulting photos are alarmingly bad — especially since the president already had the whole world laughing at him earlier in the day.

"To Aspartame!"

“To Aspartame!”

Let’s get a few things straight: The separation between regular glasses and wine glasses is arbitrary. And no one should shame the president for not drinking booze. It sends the wrong message to the millions of people out there who don’t drink but love fancy schmancy glassware. Read more…

Trump’s odd 9/11 fist pumping started a Photoshop battle, obviously

TwitterFacebook

Who knows why Donald Trump did a double fist pump before a 9/11 memorial.

The president has been criticized for the move before a service remembering the terrorist attack in Pennsylvania, which goes without saying, is a period for solemn reflection.

But anyway, here he was looking pumped.

Sacha Baron Cohen shares an impressively awkward video of Ali G interviewing Trump

TwitterFacebook

Even if everyone else abandons him or goes to jail, Ali G will always be by Trump’s side.

On Thursday, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen shared an old — and particularly painful — video of his most famous character, Ali G, interviewing Donald Trump. In a follow-up note, Ali G expressed affection for President Trump during this difficult time.

Watch in horror as Trump claims that humans existed hundreds of millions of years ago, an idea that’s been disproven by pretty much everyone in existence. Remember: this video was filmed before Trump ran for president, when he was notably more coherent. Read more…

Sarah Huckabee Sanders says it’s ‘ridiculous’ to accuse the lying president of lying

TwitterFacebook

Lying is contagious, and it appears the White House is suffering an outbreak.

Look at Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who’s in charge of making the president’s bald-faced lies to the American people presentableOn Wednesday, a stone-faced Sanders said a reporter’s question was  “ridiculous” when she asked if Trump ever lied to the American people.

Asked if she could say Pres. Trump has never lied to the public, press secretary Sarah Sanders tells @CeciliaVega, “I think that’s a ridiculous accusation. The president in this matter has done nothing wrong, and there are no charges against him.” https://t.co/DuaWJzfKYo pic.twitter.com/v69UeOsLjY

Newspapers banded together to defend the press and Lil’ Trump threw a tantrum

TwitterFacebook

President Trump is having A Day™️.

On Thursday, more than 100 newspapers from across the country joined together to condemn the president’s aggressive attacks on the media.

Instead of ignoring the editorials or responding to them constructively, President Trump did what he does best: plunged himself into chaos.

Between the president’s attacks on CNN reporter Jim Acosta and the his insistence on calling the media the “enemy of the people,” it’s been a particularly brutal summer for the free press. Led by The Boston Globe, members of the mainstream media decided to publish dozens of editorials defending their work and their constitutional right to exist. Read more…

Trump didn’t know Omarosa had been fired, new tape seems to show

TwitterFacebook

President Donald Trump runs a tight ship — poised to crash into an iceberg at any second.

No one knows this better than master villainess and former senior Trump administration official Omarosa ManigaultA new recording released by Manigault seems to show that Trump — you know, the president of the United States of America — didn’t know that she had been fired by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. (She released a recording of the meeting in which she was fired on Sunday.)

It wasn’t like Manigault was a low-level official. During her brief tenure at the White House, she served, per Reuters, as assistant to the president and as director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. Her chief responsibilities included talking trash about other White House officials and making Kelly spectacularly mad — oh, and apparently recording everyone without their consent.  Read more…
