Queen Elizabeth II posts her first ever Instagram post and it’s pretty special
Queen Elizabeth II just took to Instagram for the very first time to publish her first grid post.
This was no ordinary ‘gram. Her Majesty chose something of deep personal significance for her first post on the Royal Family Instagram grid.
“Today, as I visit the Science Museum I was interested to discover a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great-grandfather Prince Albert,” wrote the Queen.
“Charles Babbage, credited as the world’s first computer pioneer, designed the ‘Difference Engine,’ of which Prince Albert had the opportunity to see a prototype in July 1843.” Read more…

The stained glass window, a piece of artwork installed in celebration of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, was created by artist David Hockney on an iPad.

David Hockney told The Guardian that the iPad was a “natural” thing to use in the creation of the window, since it is backlit “like a window.”
