‘The Conners’ killed off Roseanne Barr’s character, and she’s not cool with it

TwitterFacebook

Back in May, the reboot of Roseanne was cancelled after Roseanne Barr posted a racist remark on Twitter.

That eventually led to The Conners, a Barr-free spinoff of Roseanne, which eventually aired on ABC Tuesday night.

The end of Barr’s character, Roseanne Connor, was made clear from the very start. Her character was killed off in the first episode, eliminating the possibility of her existence in The Conners universe.

That decision didn’t please Barr, who soon fired off a tweet.

I AIN’T DEAD, BITCHES!!!!

Roseanne Barr apologizes to Valerie Jarrett (kinda) before saying she needs a new haircut

TwitterFacebook

Following a racist tirade which resulted in the cancellation of her show, Roseanne Barr gave her first televised interview to Fox News.

Appearing on Hannity, the disgraced TV star explained the tweet regarding Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett was political rather than racist, and again stated that Barr thought Jarrett — who is of African-American descent — was white.

Explaining the Jarrett tweet, Barr said she was calling for “accountability” from the Obama administration over the Iran nuclear deal, given her views on Israel and her opposition to the country’s stance on LGBTQ rights and women. Read more…

ABC picks up ‘Roseanne’ spinoff without Roseanne

TwitterFacebook

The Conners are coming back – minus one.

After Roseanne Bar’s racist tweet immediately resulted in ABC canceling the wildly popular revival, rumors about a spinoff show circulated.

Now, ABC has finally confirming that The Conners will premiere next fall, taking over the Tuesday 8 p.m. slot left open by Roseanne

It will feature the entirety of the revival cast, aside from the very character who used to be the show’s namesake. The current order calls for an initial ten-episode run.

Having reached an agreement with executive producer Tom Werner, Barr will not be financially or creatively involved with the new show. Read more…

Roseanne Barr has claimed that Ambien — not racism — was responsible for her racist outburst on Twitter yesterday.

If the simple sleeping pill caused her to spew anachronistic racial epithets in the middle of the night, what else can she blame on it? Here are just a few of the apparent side effects of Ambien, if we are to believe the research conducted by the Roseanne Barr School of Medicine. Read more…

Trump’s terrible response to the ‘Roseanne’ controversy is the most Trump thing ever

TwitterFacebook

After 24 hours of silence, you knew it was coming: Donald Trump finally tweeted about Roseanne Barr’s racist comments about Valerie Jarrett and the subsequent cancelation of her ABC show. And, of course, he managed to do so in the most Trumpian way possible.

Here’s the tweet:

Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that “ABC does not tolerate comments like those” made by Roseanne Barr. Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?

‘Roseanne’ reruns pulled after racist tweet

TwitterFacebook

Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet didn’t just get the Roseanne revival canceled. It got old Roseanne yanked from the TV schedule, too.

TheWrap reports that reruns of Roseanne will be removed from Viacom networks – Paramount Network, TV Land, and CMT – starting Wednesday. There’s no word yet on what will replace the programming.

Roseanne, which was revived earlier in 2018 after 21 years off the air, imploded this morning after Barr posted an offensive tweet about former White House advisor Valerie Jarrett.

Barr later apologized and said she was leaving Twitter. But it was too little, too late.  Read more…
