The jaguar who attacked a woman taking a selfie won’t be put down

TwitterFacebook

Good news everyone: The jaguar who attacked a woman taking a selfie will live.

The woman reportedly crossed over a barrier near the jaguar enclosure at the Wildlife World Zoo in Arizona on Saturday to take a photo with the cats when one reached out and slashed her arm. Paramedics took her to a nearby hospital to treat the non life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from the zoo.

“Please understand why barriers are put in place,” the zoo tweeted. “Sending prayers to the family tonight.”

Mario Balotelli celebrates a goal by immediately posting a video to Instagram

TwitterFacebook

Soccer star Mario Balotelli busted out an impressive way to celebrate his latest goal: by posting a celebratory video to Instagram.

The Marseille star netted a fantastically acrobatic goal in the twelfth minute of his team’s match against Saint-Etienne on Sunday, after which he was handed his phone by a team cameraman posted behind the field’s end line. As Balotelli’s teammates swarmed for a celebration, Balotelli snapped a quick video.

And it didn’t take long to figure out what he was up to as the video quickly appeared on his Instagram feed.

Popsugar’s Twinning app is leaking everyone’s uploaded photos

I thought the worst thing about Popsugar’s Twinning tool was that it matched me with James Corden. Turns out, the hundreds of thousands of selfies uploaded to the tool can be downloaded by anyone who knows where to look. The popular photo matching tool taking the web by storm is fairly simple. “It analyzes a selfie […]

Bumping into a celebrity in public can be a tricky road to navigate.

You want to say hello, but you don’t want to embarrass them. Maybe you want an autograph, or perhaps that much-coveted selfie as proof of the encounter, but you don’t want to risk them saying no.

Nobody is more familiar with the potential awkwardness of a celebrity encounter than Twitter user Xan.

On Monday night, she met the star of Bohemian Rhapsody.

9 one-season wonders you can start and finish this holiday weekend

TwitterFacebook

Bingeing TV is a full-time job (we speak from experience here). There’s far too many shows, seasons, episodes, platforms – you get it.

But on a long holiday weekend, we count our bingeable TV blessings. Some people feel guilty spending a long weekend on a couch, but we find a real sense of pride and accomplishment from crawling into work on Tuesday having finished an entire show.

To help with this simple goal, here are some TV gems that only made it to one season – which means you can start and finish them this weekend.

The Get Down

The Get Down is one of Netflix’s short-lived treasures; a true well of lost potential in its brevity. The Baz Luhrmann-created (and partially directed) musical epic chronicled the last days of disco and the rise of rap through the lives of several teenagers growing up in the Bronx at the end of the ’70s, and the costumes, music, and casting were clearly too good for this world to support. There are only 11 episodes and they’re all a blast (the first one is peak Baz Luhrmann). Read more…
