James Corden’s Theranos parody is gleefully gross

TwitterFacebook

James Corden is on a parody binge at the moment. The other day it was Jordan Peele’s Us, and now — perhaps unsurprisingly — he’s going after the Theranos documentary.

In fairness, The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley is ripe for parody — and Corden pretty much covers all bases in the sketch above: from Elizabeth Holmes’ unblinking stare to the fairly wild idea at the centre of it all (which, in Corden’s case at least, boils down to poo in a box).

Ew. Read more…

James Corden’s ‘Us’ parody is mildly scary, extremely silly

TwitterFacebook

James Corden loves a parody sketch almost as much as he loves a car-based singalong. He’s done it with IT, and A Star is Born, and now he’s taking on Jordan Peele’s latest horror movie Us. (Although it’s called We in the sketch above because, you know, copyright.)

The parody sees Corden and Reggie Watts wandering around The Late Late Show studio, becoming increasingly concerned that some strangers are trying to steal the show away from them.

The problem is, the imposters are — you guessed it — doppelgängers. Right down to the matching One Direction tattoos. Read more…

James Corden surprises people who ordered pizza with a mystery box, and the prizes are something else

TwitterFacebook

From the point of ordering a pizza to the pizza finally being delivered to your door, you are normally pretty desperate to eat said pizza.

But would you gamble away that cheesy heaven for the possibility of a mystery prize?

This is the choice James Corden presents to random strangers in the segment above.

Unsurprisingly, pretty much all of them choose the mystery option. And — mostly — they aren’t disappointed. Read more…

Chris O’Dowd tries to guess what Trump’s laugh sounds like and it’s horrifyingly funny

TwitterFacebook

Comedian Chris O’Dowd can only presume that U.S. President Donald Trump is not familiar with his work. This is due to the fact that the comedian and actor has never heard the president let out so much as a chuckle.

“I’ve never heard the man laugh!” O’Dowd told James Corden on The Late Late Show.

Corden then asked O’Dowd and the other guest of the evening, comedian Kal Penn, to try and imitate the president laughing — with hilariously high pitched and slightly unsettling results.

It that really what Trump’s laugh sounds like? No one knows… Read more…

Kal Penn tells hilariously unnerving story about not getting paid for a movie

TwitterFacebook

What do you do if you’re working on a movie that’s two days from wrapping and you still don’t have any money to show for it?

Well, if you’re Kal Penn, you go on strike. In the clip above from The Late Late Show with James Corden, the actor told the story of an independent movie he was shooting in India that he hadn’t been paid for — and what happened after he refused to show up on set in protest, on the advice of some Bollywood actors.

What follows is an anecdote that’s both funny and a tad unnerving. Read more…

Hailey Bieber is forced to choose between drinking bird saliva and a question about Fyre Festival

TwitterFacebook

The people who wrote the questions for James Corden’s “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” segment really don’t mess about.

This week the game — which involves a celebrity choosing between a disgusting food item and an awkward question — featured Hailey Bieber. And the first question was about one promo shoot she’d probably rather forget.

“How much money did you get to appear in the Fyre Festival promo?” asks a giggling James Corden in the clip above, referring to the controversial event that was the subject of two recent documentaries on Netflix and Hulu.

Bieber was ready with her reply, though. “I am not gonna share, but it made for a very generous donation to charity,” she replied. Read more…

James Corden’s cell phone guessing game is hilariously tense

TwitterFacebook

Ever wondered what the contents of a celebrity’s cell phone might be? Well, now you know. Or at least, now you know the most recent text, photo, and the last song played on the phone of one celebrity in particular.

In the game above, James Corden uses those three clues to interrogate actors Charlie Day, Regina Hall, and Eugene Levy, with the aim of correctly guessing who the mystery phone in question belongs to.

We won’t say who whose phone it is here — you’ll have to watch the video for that — but we will say this: Corden ends up guessing wrong. Read more…
