In our Love App-tually series, Mashable shines a light into the foggy world of online dating. It is cuffing season after all.

The Tinder catchphrase “It’s a Match!” has always contained a semi-ironic nod to the decidedly old-school roots of matchmaking. But the phrase that launched a thousand hookups takes on an even schmaltzier meaning when an initial swipe right turns into marriage. 

Far from ashamed, couples who meet each other on dating apps are now paying a grateful — if tongue-in-cheek — homage to how it all began.

Nobody likes a wedding crasher — unless that crasher is Philadelphia Flyers mascot and hero of the Weird Internet, Gritty. 

On Friday, photos and videos surfaced from a wedding in Philadelphia where the Great Orange One appears to have dropped in unannounced to the utter delight to everyone involved.

Good guy David Harbour is back with his big promises.

The Stranger Things star has pledged to become ordained and preside over the wedding ceremony of Twitter user @ErickaElizabth, but only if he gets 125,000 retweets.

There’s a bit of time though, the wedding is slated for September.

What would it take to get @DavidKHarbour to be the Officiant at my wedding in September?!

Finally, we can party: Australia’s first same-sex marriages just happened

Although marriage equality is now legal in Australia, most LGBTQ couples need to wait until Jan. 9 before they can do so.

Amy Laker and Lauren Price jumped the gun by being one of the first same sex couples to be married in the country, with the pair getting hitched in Sydney on Saturday.

Price and Laker received an exemption as their families had travelled from Wales to be there for the ceremony, according to SBS News.

The couple planned to marry at the British consulate, which used to be one of the only legal options for LGBTQ couples if they wanted to marry in Australia.  Read more…
