It’s Christmas now: Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ has entered the iTunes charts

And thus, it was Christmas. For Mariah had decreed it so.

That’s right, folks: the holiday haters in your life are wrong. Even though it’s only Nov. 2 and I still have fake spiders all over my apartment, it’s officially the holiday season. 

Why? Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is on the iTunes charts.

To be fair, Mariah has known that it’s Christmas for a while — she put her tree up at the beginning of October. Now, though, we’ve finally listened to our wintry empress. Her flawless holiday bop is currently at #58 on iTunes’s “Top Songs” chart, which reflects top downloads. Apple is just $100 billion away from being a trillion-dollar company

Tomorrow, we’ll see how much the world loves the latest iPhone. Today, we’ll have to settle for another spectacular report on Apple’s revenue. 

Apple brought in $52.6 billion last quarter, a 12 percent increase from the year prior. The device manufacturer blew past analysts expectations of just over $50 billion. Its guidance for 2018 revenue also beats previous estimates. 

The company’s happy news sent its stock up by more than 3 percent in after-hours trading and bumped its valuation to more than $900 billion — only $100 billion short of being the first $1 trillion company.  Read more…
