Drag Queen Elsa, that is.
This Elsa was spotted outside a south Boston bar, The Gallows, pushing a police wagon that was stuck in the snow. Chants of “Go Elsa!” are heard in the background, as he single-handedly managed to free the truck, all while wearing a flowing gown and heels.
And because Elsa is a queen, after this feat of strength, he takes an elegant curtsy, to remind us that we are in the presence of Frozen royalty. Read more…

The New England blizzard looks like a monster from space

The nor’easter that has shut down much of New England on Tuesday is reaching its great arms into regions over both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic, sucking moisture into the powerful storm.
In a technical forecast discussion on Monday night from the National Weather Service forecast office in Boston, meteorologists said the storm was even importing moisture from as far away as the Pacific Ocean.
The result — aided by the storm also drawing in cold air from Canada — is a blizzard wherein enough moisture and freezing temperatures can create copious snowfall and high winds.

The search for a site for Amazon’s second headquarters has been narrowed down to 20 cities — and according to several experts, the frontrunner among them is Atlanta.
But it has some formidable competitors.
“I think that Atlanta is still the top contender, although the field is narrowing,” said demographic expert Bert Sperling. In November 2017, back when there were more competitors, Sperling also had Atlanta as number one. But now, he believes “things might be changing.”
Fourteen of the 20 finalists — including New York City, Boston, and Miami — are in the Eastern time zone. “That’s pretty tough to argue with,” he said of their location on the East Coast. Read more…

People around the U.S. are waking up to a white Christmas.
Seattle and Portland — two cities that aren’t exactly known for heavy snowfall this time of year — are both seeing a fair bit of snow on Monday.
Large swaths of the Midwest and Northeast also woke up to plenty of the white stuff coating lawns, trees, and cars.
And that’s not all.
Some lucky Boston residents awake early enough on Christmas morning got treated to one of the rarest and most treasured of weather events: thundersnow.
