Lexus’s Sport Yacht concept is set to become an even bigger, 65-foot reality

Forget those dreams you’ve been having about owning a 42-foot luxury yacht that can easily haul your eight closest friends — Lexus’s futuristic concept cruiser is now becoming a 65-foot long reality.

The Lexus Sport Yacht that was revealed last year with its two V8 engines and a 49-mph top speed as a joint effort between Lexus’s design team and Toyota Marine Division’s engineering team is getting a major upgrade. The boat will keep the same high-end entertainment system and handmade wood and leather interior as the original concept — but will grow significantly in size.

The original concept received an award at the Japan International Boat Show last week, and a Toyota executive used the occasion to announce a new premium version moving beyond the original concept after testing and building the Sport Yacht last year.  Read more…
