The Central Hall at CES 2018 just lost power, and people cheered

It appears that CES can’t handle, well, CES.

The Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center lost power Wednesday afternoon, shutting down booths and leaving thousands of exhibitors and press wandering around in darkness.

For a brief and beautiful moment, the sounds of a violin echoed throughout the cavernous hall, and those stranded began to randomly cheer and stomp (really).

The official CES Twitter account has weighed in on the madness.

There is an isolated power outage at the Las Vegas Convention Center. We are working hard to resolve this and appreciate your patience.
