Announce your *real* genetic makeup with the 23andMe meme

TwitterFacebook

23andMe has been 23-and-Meme’d.

The genetic testing service has its pros (It helps you discover your roots!) and its cons (Oh shit, is it selling your data for research?), and it’s definitely becoming a household name.

Now, 23andMe is even the star of a new meme — an indication of mainstream success if I’ve ever seen one.

23andMe delivers its DNA results via a percentage breakdown. Here’s an example:

It’s National DNA Day, which means AncestryDNA, 23andMe, Living DNA, and more are on sale

TwitterFacebook

In case you didn’t know, National DNA Day is a thing. And it’s today.

On April 25, 1953, James Watson and Francis Crick published an article in the journal Nature about the structure of DNA, which was a huge deal back then.

Celebrate the anniversary of this discovery and their publication by — what else — testing your own DNA.

AncestryDNA, 23andMe, LivingDNA, and Geno 2.0 Next Generation by National Geographic are all having major sales on their DNA testing kits (like, up to $60 off major). Thanks science!
