The robot was created by YouTuber Ivan Miranda — it essentially prints messages on the sand. The robot works by implementing a notch that drops down, creating a series of dashes to print out the programmed message

There are two types of people in this world: beach lovers and beach haters. And while these two categories are mostly inflexible, it is technically possible to make a hater come around.

How do I know this? Friends, I used to be a beach hater. I hated the sand, the perpetually drippy sunscreen, the seagulls stealing my Doritos. I was practically a walking Anakin Skywalker clip. 

But now I know the key to a good beach trip: planning. You don’t need to plan a lot, either — avoiding a beach disaster requires just a little bit of foresight.

After air and water, usable sand is the natural resource that we use the most of. It’s what entire cities are made of and it’s running out. 

A group of students in London have found a way to bind desert sand – which is abundant but useless in construction because it’s too fine and round – into a new biodegradable composite material, called “Finite,” which is as strong as concrete. Read more…
