You can now brew your own dodgy illicit liquor in ‘Fallout 76’

Sure, you can ramble around Wild Appalachia scrounging in crates for old dusty beers in Fallout 76, but what if you could brew your own?

Bethesda has announced the arrival of a new brewing and distilling feature for the online multiplayer game, which for the first time ever allows you to craft your own booze.

From March 12, as part of Bethesda’s new roadmap additions, players will be able to become “the Wasteland’s premiere bartender” with the help of Appalachia’s biggest boozehound of a robot, Biv, who’ll teach you to craft illicit Nukashine using the shiny new brewing station. Read more…

‘Fallout 76’ players can get three old Fallout games for free

Is Bethesda Softworks just getting into the holiday spirit here, or is this an unspoken “make good” apology after Fallout 76‘s borked launch?

No one can say! And frankly, it doesn’t matter. Bethesda has a special holiday offer in place for anyone who’s played Fallout 76, which takes the popular apocalypse-centered role-playing game and turns it into an online game.

The offer is for more Fallout, and — importantly — free Fallout. Here’s the deal, straight from the publisher’s Twitter account:

#HappyHolidays!

ANYONE who logged into the full release of #Fallout76 in 2018 will receive an entitlement for Fallout Classic Collection on PC. This applies to Xbox One and PS4 players, too

The entitlement is expected to go live in early Januarypic.twitter.com/U8pJwrk0PV

‘Fallout 76’ is good for one thing and one thing only

Fallout 76 isn’t good for much, but it is giving gamers one more chance to learn a valuable lesson. Don’t pay for a product you do not want—particularly when you know you are paying for a product you do not want.

Let me be up front: I think this game is bad. The critical consensus, that 76 is a failed experiment with a mountain of unfixable problems, is one that I agree with in broad strokes.

However, for the sake of productive discussion, I am not going to pile onto the bounty of criticism already out there. (If that’s what you’re looking for, I suggest the search terms “Fallout 76” and “sucks” and possibly “ass.”)  Read more…
