There’s a new, very important baby in town. No, it’s not another royal baby. It’s better.
   
Meet the Amazon Fire TV Cube — or, as Mashable’s Ray Wong has assessed, the love child between the Amazon Fire 4K Streamer and the Echo. It finally made its debut on Amazon, and is  available for pre-order for $119.99

And, until June 8 at 11:59 pm EST, Prime members get an extra special $30 discount, making their pre-order just $89.99. The recently jacked-up $119/year Prime price is already paying for itself.

(For comparison, if you were to purchase the newest Echo and the Fire TV 4K streamer separately, you’d be paying $169.98. So yeah.) Read more…

Okay so we made the holiday up, but who cares, because we’ll take any excuse to celebrate. Verizon knows that store lines on the S9’s official drop day (March 16) are going to be insane, so they’re offering a seriously sweet preorder deal: Save up to $350 on an S9 or S9+ when you trade in your old phone (you won’t be needing anymore anyway). The Ataribox has been delayed, casting doubt on the console’s future

Atari’s throwback console Ataribox looks like it’s in trouble.

The Ataribox, first revealed in June, was supposed to go up for preorder Thursday, but the preorder was unexpectedly delayed the morning of, Engadget reported. According to Atari, the delay is because the console is taking a bit longer to make than expected.

Based on the design of the Atari 2600, the $250 to $300 Ataribox will run with a Linux operating system and be able to run mid-range level PC games, but not modern AAA titles, which is a huge red flag — that price tag is not cheap and most people reserve spending that type of money on modern consoles that can run new games. Plus, Atari is hoping pay for the project through crowdfunding which means Atari wasn’t able to drum up its own outside investments. (Side for Atari: Crowdsourced consoles have a 0% success rate.)
