Creative people build mini-island to dodge NYE alcohol ban

When it comes to New Year’s Eve, people are more than happy to get creative if it means their party plans can go unhindered.

On Sunday, a photo shared by David Saunders in the Facebook group Tairua ChitChat! began doing the rounds on social media.

It appears to show a group of New Zealanders sat drinking on a tiny island made of sand:
