Demi Lovato took Danica Roem, the first openly transgender state legislator, to the AMAs

Demi Lovato brought a special guest who’s making empowering changes in politics to last night’s 2017 American Music Awards. 

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer brought Danica Roem, the first openly transgender state legislator as her guest.

She wanted to celebrate Roem’s historic win with an invitation to the annual event. The Virginia Democrat defeated Republican Robert Marshall earlier this month.
