Once raging across the Pacific Ocean, Hurricane Walaka is now rapidly weakening far northwest of Hawaii.

Its short appearance has been intriguing for weather watchers, with Category 5 Walaka spinning at the same time as Super Typhoon Kong-rey. The latter was located on the other side of the Pacific. Swells have also aroused surfers, albeit keeping lifeguards busy.

A graphic of Walaka was published by Central Pacific Hurricane Center on Thursday. No prizes for guessing what it looks like.
