Latinas hold only 2% of STEM jobs. These 5 women are working to fix that.

Many barriers stand in the way of a Latina interested in a career in STEM. Even if one pushes past discrimination and isolation, there is still the question of resources. 

The numbers say it all: Only 2% of Latinas held science and engineering positions in 2015, as reported by the National Science Foundation. According to a report from the National Center for Women and Information Technology, Latinas made up only 1% of the computing workforce in 2017.
