‘Red Dead Redemption II’ trailer brings more story and, at last, a release date

Red Dead Redemption II is out on Oct. 26, 2018. If that’s all you wanted to know going into this new trailer, well, now you know it.

The game’s third trailer offers a much closer look at the story, which is set before the events of the previous game. You may remember old Dutch Van der Linde from Rockstar Games previous Red Dead; this new one follows his gang’s earlier days.

A rough synopsis included with the trailer gives a sense of how we’re introduced to Arthur Morgan, the game’s star, and the rest of the gang:

“After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.” Read more…
