Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ review: Outstanding in every way

My first thought after seeing the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in person wasn’t, “Oh, it’s the same as the Galaxy S8,” but rather relief, “phew, it doesn’t have a notch in its screen.”

As Android phone makers trip over themselves to copy the iPhone X‘s most controversial feature, Samsung has wisely eschewed any top-to-bottom redesign for its latest flagship Android phones, and instead focused on fine-tuning all the details.

The S9’s features are polished to a premium level that I’ve only ever seen on iPhones. The outside is familiar, but on the inside almost everything’s all new. The cameras, stereo speakers, faster chip, Android Oreo — it’s all improved, and you don’t need to spend $1,000 to get them. Read more…
