Sorry, this is dumb, but shouldn’t the inside of the poop emoji’s mouth be brown?

Or perhaps, like us, you are wondering: Why is the inside of the poop emoji’s mouth so white? Wouldn’t an ostensibly healthy anthropomorphized poo be brown throughout? Are we deeply overthinking this emoji’s design choice? (Sure, but we wouldn’t be the the first to do so this week.) 

Our Chief Correspondent Lance Ulanoff first brought this to our attention through the iPhone X’s 3D emoji feature. Basically, the phone uses 3D mapping to create emoji animations that mimic the phone user’s facial expressions. (Very creepy, but we’ll set that aside for now.)  Read more…
