‘Three Billboards’ wins Globes’ Best Picture but not everyone’s happy about it

Taking out one of the two top gongs for the Golden Globes, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has won this year’s Best Picture: Drama.

Voted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the film trumped Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, The Post, and The Shape of Water for the Globe. But not everyone was psyched about it.

Written, produced and directed by British Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, black comedy-crime drama Three Billboards follows the exploits of Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) challenging seemingly complacent local authorities to solve her daughter’s unsolved rape and murder. Read more…
