We can’t know for sure, but that’s probably what Rami Malek was thinking when he was nominate for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the 2019 Academy Awards, and what the rest of the crew said when Bohemian Rhapsody was nominated for Best Picture.
Reviews weren’t as stellar as director Bryan Singer had hoped for at first, but considering the Queen biopic has received a whopping five Academy Awards nominations and was ruled the highest-grossing music biopic ever, a hell of a lot of people must have liked it.
Other nominations include Achievement in Sound Editing, Achievement in Sound Mixing, and Achievement in Film Editing. All of these also make it one of the leaders for LGBTQ+ representation in the nominations, trailing behind The Favourite. Read more…
