‘Better Call Saul’ gets closer to ‘Breaking Bad’ in Season 4 – but for better or for worse?

It was inevitable that Better Call Saul would creep closer and closer to Breaking Bad territoryBetter Call Saul is a prequel, after all, and that’s what prequels do.

What wasn’t a given, and what’s made Better Call Saul such a rewarding experience, is that at its best, it doesn’t just tell us what happens before Breaking Bad. Instead, it reframes its parent series in a tragic new light. 

To be sure, it’s still possible to enjoy Better Call Saul without having seen Breaking Bad.
