This is what a red alert for snowfall actually looks like at an airport

TwitterFacebook

The UK may be known for snowvereacting, but Ireland is contending with some serious weather, to the point where the whole country was on red alert on Thursday.

The “Beast from the East” is no joke at Dublin airport. Their official Twitter account put out this footage Thursday of the view from inside the terminal.

So this is what a ‘Red Alert for heavy snowfall’ actually looks like @DublinAirport. We’ll have further updates in the morning. Stay safe#StormEmma #BeastFromTheEast #Snow pic.twitter.com/ENajr7xaFX

Bus narrowly dodges car on snowy road in nerve-shredding dashcam footage

TwitterFacebook

If ever you need a reason not drive in snowy conditions unless it’s absolutely necessary, just remind yourself of the clip above.

Titled “Stay in people Red snow alert!!” and presumably filmed in Scotland (where the Met Office recently issued a Red warning, which means the risk to life is “likely”), the video shows dashcam footage of a bus swerving to avoid a car on a snow-covered road.

Props to the bus driver — he handles the whole incident like an absolute pro.

Meanwhile, the reaction of the guy in the car that’s filming pretty much says it all. Read more…

Let this sweary Twitter account help you express your ‘Beast from the East’ feelings

What’s every weather report missing (apart from pyrotechnics of course)? You got it, it’s swearing.

The so-called “Beast from the East” has arrived in Britain, and although the scenes aren’t exactly dire, people are braced for things to get worse before they get better.

We Brits are proud of our ability to moan about minor inconveniences, so here to channel your petty fury is the perfect Twitter account for the occasion. Fucking Weather.

Next week is the meteorological start of Spring……
Can somebody explain that to the fucking weather.#BeastFromTheEast pic.twitter.com/qUJE7yYuY5

Individually, cats and snow are already very strong internet fodder. But when you combine the two together, magic happens.

This week, Europe has been hit by cold weather and snowstorms dubbed “The Beast from the East“. Everyone from commuters to pets has been affected. But while some have found shelter indoors, others have been embracing the icy conditions.

Look, here’s an acrobatic feline attempting to catch a snowball in glorious slow motion.

Snow storm over London looks like a nightmare tidal wave in police helicopter footage

TwitterFacebook

You know those disaster movies where it’s blue sky one minute, hellish storm clouds the next?

Well that was pretty much what happened in London on Tuesday.

Thing have been cold in the UK for a few days now, but the so-called “Beast from the East” well and truly slammed into Britain’s capital yesterday.

Just look at this nightmarish photo, taken from a police helicopter.

We spoke too soon! Snow showers over central London. They look pretty dramatic from here!!.. Where’s @TheShard gone!!?? 🌨 🌨 pic.twitter.com/h0URlnSspm

Someone tried skiing through London and it’s truly facepalm-worthy

TwitterFacebook

Okay guys we know it’s snowy out there and everything, but you’re clutching at straws now.

Londoners (and Southerners in general) are known for losing all composure at the sight of a few snowflakes. Said snowflakes have been arriving en masse courtesy of the “Beast from the East,” in which cold winds from Siberia are pushing a frigid air mass westward into Central Europe and the UK.

One particular Londoner took the disproportionate snow-hype to new levels.
