Bad news first: the internet is broken for a while. The good news is that Cloudflare thinks it can make it slightly less broken. With “the click of one button,” the networking giant said Tuesday, its users can now switch on DNSSEC in their dashboard. In doing so, Cloudflare hopes it removes a major pain-point […]

Cloudflare recruits state and local governments for free election site security program
After launching a free program to protect election systems last December, Cloudflare has an update on how things are going. Those services include the […]

For a long time, it has been hard to buy a cloud-first security platform that delivers full-stack security in a single data path. Current market solutions offer a “one trick pony”, leaving companies with overly complex routing setups or abnormal latency of traffic to get a solution that fulfills their needs. Swedish cybersecurity startup Baffin […]

When it launched back in 2010, Cloudflare was all about speeding up websites and protecting them from hackers. Today, with the launch of Spectrum, it’s taking a major step to move beyond the web and into protecting — and potentially speeding up — other parts of the internet. While Cloudflare’s regular services work well for […]

Cloudflare has a unique way of protecting a huge portion of the world’s internet. They call it their Wall of Entropy; a wall lined with lava lamps that are being filmed with a camera. That data is then converted to numbers jumbled up with a couple other sources of randomness in other parts of the world, like a Geiger counter and a chaotic pendulum, and is then fed into an algorithm with… Read More

If you’re part of a big company, chances are that there are resources that are only available via the internal network, or whatever your company calls it. Now Cloudflare wants you to do the same and use its new Access… Read More

A major player in keeping the internet running smoothly appeared to experience some problems of its own on Tuesday, with reports emerging that Cloudflare went down across parts of the U.S.
You may not be familiar with the name, but you have most certainly run across the work of the company that protects against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks and prides itself on making “the Internet Work the Way It Should for Anything Online.”
“Anything,” apparently, failed to include Cloudflare itself on Tuesday — at least for a short period of time.
