Gender reveal parties are exhaustingly overdone — from starting wildfires to nearly killing Grandpa, the heteronormative announcements can backfire beautifully. Twitter user @mskittenfish posted a video of a rare gender reveal done well.

But there’s a twist: The baby is neither a girl nor a boy. It’s a genderless otherworldly predator!

Instead of revealing pink or blue filling, this party was interrupted when a toothy alien burst out of the cake.

There’s now video of the gender reveal party that started a wildfire and it is really something

Remember the infamous gender reveal party that went so wrong it sparked a massive wildfire? Well, video of it has finally been released, and it as gloriously idiotic as you’d expect.

The incident happened back in Arizona in April 2017, but now thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request from the Arizona Daily Star the video has been made public.

It begins as off-duty Border Patrol Agent Dennis Dickey shoots an explosive target to reveal the gender of the baby he and his wife were expecting. You can briefly see a cloud of blue — it’s a boy! — before the grass around the target quickly goes up in flames. Smart location choice, guys! Read more…

Louisiana family uses a giant alligator to reveal their baby’s gender and it does not go well

Here’s a cool way to make a gender reveal party better (or worse, depending): add an alligator to the mix.

That’s right — this Louisiana family decided to take gender reveal parties to the next level and included a large gator as part of the ritual. Soon-to-be dad and alligator wrangler, Mike Kleibert coaxes the beast around, before dropping a watermelon in its mouth.

The gator snaps its jaws, revealing blue goo. Congrats! Thanks to the colors coded by our rigid dichotomous gender binary, looks like the kid’s gonna be a boy!

After chomping a bit on the remnants of melon, the gator swerves dangerously towards the family and Kleibert has to wrestle the creature to the ground. Read more…
