Oprah’s gift to Mindy Kaling’s daughter makes all other presents look like garbage

TwitterFacebook

So is Oprah this kid’s actual fairy godmother?

Minday Kaling was a guest in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night. She thanked Colbert for a present he and his wife sent for her new 2-month-old — a set of baby clothes.

However, Kaling revealed that all gifts pale in comparison to the present her Wrinkle in Time co-star Oprah sent.

Namely, an ornate wooden bookcase in the shape of a castle, packed with children’s literature and each book inscribed with “Katherine’s Book Club.” Read more…

Something is up with ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ social reactions

TwitterFacebook

The first screenings for Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time took place on Tuesday, and the reaction has been – well, kind of absent. That isn’t to say that reactions are particularly bad, but for the most part, critics and audiences have stayed silent.

First of all, a quick recap – before a film’s wide release, distributors will host early screenings for VIPs, press, and sometimes members of the public. Following that, there are official embargo dates – one for social media reactions, one for official reviews. You can usually gauge a film’s quality based on how many screenings there are, how far out they are from the release, and when the embargoes lift.  Read more…

Time will tell if 2018 turns out to be any better than the hell year that was 2017. But at least 2018 has one thing going for it already: the upcoming release of Ocean’s 8

Sandra Bullock stars as the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney’s character from the earlier Ocean‘s trilogy), who recruits a crack team to pull off a high-stakes heist at the Met Gala.
