BB-8, well-mannered, respectful astromech droid, knows the protocol of a royal greeting when such an occasion arises.

Pity two certain princes didn’t play ball.

At the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night, Princes Harry and William were in attendance as the event was hosted in aid of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

When you’re organising a red carpet for a big TV show, it’s crucial to have as many important guests as possible.

Whoever made arrangements for the London’s premiere of Netflix’s The Crown on Tuesday clearly knew this rule well.

Claire Foy was there. Gillian Anderson was there. Matt Smith was there.

Oh, and a couple of hairy surprise guests who totally stole everybody else’s thunder.
