The apocalypse scene from ‘American Horror Story’ will make you scared of your phone

TwitterFacebook

I haven’t been this scared of my phone since Drew Barrymore picked up the line in Scream.

Last night’s premiere episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse depicted the end of days in a pretty standard fashion—lots of screaming, running, crying, etc. But one cellular detail brought the campy series’ take on the world’s end to a very real and very 2018 place.

In the season’s opening scene, three main characters are casually discussing pressed juice and Instagram fame when a loud blaring noise fills the room. Instantly, they reach for their phones.  Read more…

The ‘Solo’ premiere gave us some of the biggest Star Wars surprises yet

TwitterFacebook

HOLLYWOOD — When the invites came in for the world premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story on May 10, the date was curious enough to raise the eyebrows of a Wookiee.

The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi: all three Star Wars movies of the Disney era so far had shut down multiple blocks with show-stopping Saturday night festivities. (We reported on them here, here and here)Solo would have its coming out party on … a Thursday

What? The galaxy’s greatest scoundrel didn’t deserve a weekend-level rager too? Was this a subtle sign that Lucasfilm was embarrassed by the Young Han Solo flick, which infamously changed directors midstream, and was trying to brush it under the red carpet? Would Hollywood Boulevard not shut down for Star Wars this time? The longer the details were delayed, the more suspect it seemed.  Read more…

Maisie Williams announces ‘Game of Thrones’ return date

TwitterFacebook

Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams may have accidentally spilled the beans on when the series will be returning for its eighth season in 2019.

Williams said that the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere will air in April 2019, the series star shared in an interview with Metro Friday.

“We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019],” the Arya Stark actor told Metro. “That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.” Read more…

Billie Lourd pays tribute to mother Carrie Fisher at Star Wars premiere

TwitterFacebook

Almost a year after Carrie Fisher’s tragic death, her daughter Billie Fisher paid tribute to the iconic Star Wars actress and took on the mantle by appearing alongside her in The Last Jedi. Billie Lourd honored her mother with two subtle visual tributes at Saturday’s premiere in Los Angeles.

Lourd appears in The Last Jedi as Lieutenant Connix (she was also in The Force Awakens), and arrived at the premiere wearing her hair in a stunning bun just like Leia’s from the end of A New Hope.

*Hears that Billie Lourd’s hairdo at the premiere was Leia inspired*
Still. . .not. . .crying 😭😭😭😭
